HIFLD Fire HIFLD Fire Stations Inventory

Published by U.S. Department of Homeland Security (Homeland Infrastructure Foundation-Level Data)· quarterly

Federal inventory of every U.S. fire station with location and identifier — the authoritative source for emergency service coverage analysis.

In Detail

HIFLD Fire Stations is a national geospatial dataset of every U.S. fire station, maintained by DHS using contributions from the U.S. Fire Administration and state/local agencies. Each record includes facility name, exact address and coordinates, zip code, state, and a permanent federal identifier. ValiFit uses HIFLD Fire to compute the Safety Infrastructure composite (fire stations within 5-mile radii per ISO Public Protection Classification standards) and to render entity pages at /fire-stations/[id] for every U.S. fire station — feeding LLM citation indexes via Schema.org FireStation JSON-LD.
