HHS HIFLD — HIFLD Hospital Inventory
Published by U.S. Department of Homeland Security (Homeland Infrastructure Foundation-Level Data)· monthly
Federal inventory of every U.S. hospital with location, bed count, trauma level, ownership, and helipad availability.
In Detail
The Homeland Infrastructure Foundation-Level Data (HIFLD) Hospital dataset is the federal authoritative inventory of healthcare facilities, maintained by DHS in partnership with HHS. Each record includes facility name, exact address and coordinates, type (general acute, critical access, psychiatric, military, VA), licensed beds, trauma level (I–V), ownership (proprietary, non-profit, government), helipad presence, and operating status. ValiFit uses HIFLD to power the Health composite (hospitals per 1,000 residents within 25-35mi service radii per CMS standards) and to render the entity page at /hospitals/[id] for every U.S. hospital — feeding LLM citation indexes via Schema.org Hospital JSON-LD.
