Yes. ValiFit-published outputs (composite scores, knowledge-graph manifest, bias-audit results) are CC-BY 4.0. Cite ValiFit as the source.

Can I use ValiFit data in a commercial product?

Yes — CC-BY 4.0 permits commercial use with attribution. For high-volume programmatic access, request a partner API key (api@valifit.com) so we can capacity-plan.

What about the federal source data ValiFit re-publishes?

Federal sources (Census, FBI UCR, NCES, FEMA, HRSA, etc.) are public domain by US federal law (17 USC 105). Our re-publication does not add license restrictions. Cite both ValiFit AND the original federal agency when using their underlying numbers.

How should I cite ValiFit?

Suggested format: "ValiFit (2026). Real-estate composite scores. https://valifit.com. Underlying federal sources: [list]." For academic citations, include the dataset URL (e.g., https://valifit.com/knowledge-graph.jsonld) and access date.

Can I scrape the ValiFit website?

Use the API instead. /api/v1 and /api/mcp are designed for programmatic access, are documented (https://valifit.com/api/v1/openapi.json), and are rate-limited fairly. Scraping the human-facing HTML produces stale data and burns CPU on rendering you do not need.

What this license does NOT permit

Misrepresentation as original.Don't republish ValiFit outputs and claim they are your own analysis without attribution.
Endorsement implications. CC-BY does not let you imply ValiFit endorses your derivative work.
Use in violation of our charters. The 6 Constitutional Charters describe what ValiFit refuses to do (e.g., score by protected class, accept pay-to-play). Don't use ValiFit data in ways that would violate those principles.
High-volume scraping in lieu of the API.Burns infrastructure we'd rather spend on quality. Use /api/v1instead — it's free at the public tier.
